Frequently Asked Questions
What is the lead time on the systems from Dynon?
Dynon has been incredibly good and 90% of the time the systems ship within about 2 weeks of the order. The other 10% of the time I will have all the parts in 4 weeks max, at no point so-far has it extended past 4 weeks.
How does payment for Avionics Equipment work?
The system will be built out and designed and once the associated parts and pieces have been chosen and set an invoice for the parts will be created. Once that invoice has been paid all parts will be ordered that day. Labor, installation, and misc equipment needed for the install such as connectors or circuit breakers will be invoiced as needed. We try our absolute best to get all of this one the first one but there are occasionally circumstances where we need extra.
How Long do Avionics take to install?
Each job will be quoted an hourly estimate based on the complexity of the job. Please note that all avionics jobs are hunt and seek if you will. Until the unit is out and the wires are exposed to the occasional rats nest that we find we truly cant give you an exact time frame so we do our best to estimate somewhere between the perfect scenario and the absolute worst. Here are some basic estimates in that above thought process:
- Basic Audio Panel: 16-20 hours.
- IFR GPS: 30 hours.
- IFR GPS-Comm: 35 hours.
- Integrated Navigator: 40 hours.
- Autopilot (Single Axis): 30 hours.
- Autopilot (Two-Axis): 40 hours.
- Garmin GFC500 with Dual G5s: 80-90 hours
